Happy One Year Anniversary!

Al Bowman and I have known each other for years. Working together on campaigns and other projects gives people a chance to really get to know each other. As is the case with so many, life took us in separate directions, but we reconnected professionally in 2020 on a few campaigns.

One night just over a year ago, we were reminiscing about campaigns and laughing about some of the stories and lessons learned. Out of that conversation came an idea: A company focused on creating grassroot efforts tailored to specific campaigns and candidates. With so few organizations focused on true grassroots operations, and even fewer on the Republican side who cared to try to approach campaigns in that way, there was a niche that we could fill.

Grassroots is where we started. It’s where most politicos get their start. The problem as we saw it was that most saw grassroot efforts as the dirty work that they “have to do” before they get to write mail or produce television. They can’t wait to get away from absentee and mail-in ballots, voter contact, voter ID, GOTV, election day planning, and the dreaded pre-canvassing and canvassing. There’s even more related to grassroots that we couldn’t possibly cover in this blog post, and besides, it would just be a long and boring list.

But this is where the rubber meets the road and where campaigns are won…and more often lost. And this is where we excel.

Which is why, earlier this year, we created a company, named it, filed the paperwork, launched this website, and started making phone calls. Friends and associates were happy to help. One client became two, and then those numbers began to grow. Now, here we are finishing up our first year which has been filled with fun and some tedium. At times, it was scary, but thankfully, it was mostly exciting and successful.

We’re looking forward to 2023 as TSS will be expanding. Building on our successes, we’ll be bringing our mail-in ballot program 100% in-house as well as introducing our own self-contained candidate & voter contact program. And there’s even more on the horizon.
